This a list of AI tools and applications we find especially interesting, useful, or informative. This list is not comprehensive, and mostly contains things that are featured in our course content.
Information:
AI Landscape Map (by Handshake) - An overview of 150+ AI tools we put together for you (developed in 4/20/23)
Tensorflow Projector - A visualization of what a model looks like if reduced down to three dimensions. NOT a practical tool. These are simpler, older models which serve as a nice depiction of what a model is.
Generative AI platforms:
Image generators:
Dream Studio - Official Stable Diffusion interface. The new release Stable Diffusion XL is especially proficient in photorealism.
Adobe Firefly - Beta version of Adobe's image generator.
MidJourney - A model of its own (not stable diffusion) proficient in photorealism (among other things).
Dall-E - Easy-to-use and cheap, but doesn’t make the cut of looking like IRL imagery (in real life).
Voice generators:
Play.ht - Ultra-realistic Text-to-Speech (TTS) generator.
ElevenLabs - Another Text-to-Speech service which also offers ways to create voiceovers in your own voice.
Video generators:
Runway ML - can add special effects to existing videos or create short videos in response to text prompts.
Music generators:
Note: These are still very beta and, dare I call them, weird (or artistic, depending on how you see it)..
Soundful - closed-source, commercial music generation model for creating royalty free background music.
BoomyAI - Offers a song-generation platform even for non-musically inclined, as well as a platform where to post this music and get paid when someone listens to it.
Innovative applications:
Elicit - AI Research Assistant; Find relevant papers, summarize takeaways & extract key information
Replika - AI companion; Advertises deep emotional intimacy. Watch a podcast with the founder here.
Harmonai - Music Generator
Puppets.app - Fun application of AI to animate puppets with hand gestures
Character.ai - AI chatbot embodying different personalities; talk with Billie Eilish, Mario and a NYC cat (for free). A beta version (Eilish told me she was a professor before singing)

Glide - Specializes in building tools for businesses (as a service)
Bubble - The online software we use during class to create an AI app
Zapier - General tool for connecting one app to another, like email to spreadsheet. Now also has the capacity to connect to AI. (More for internal applications, not client-facing)
